Taught by top industry professionals, the 2-year acting for film program prepares the student for work as a professional actor in the film, television and theatre industries.
The program consists of:
- 1st year Higher Certificate Course (NQF 5 QUALIFICATION)
- 2nd year Advanced Certificate Course (NQF 6/DIPLOMA LEVEL QUALIFICATION)
Students are offered the flexibility of completing either one or two years depending on individual requirements.
At the conclusion of the two year program, students are given the opportunity to audition for the prestigious Third Year Professional Program. This cutting-edge training, designed to bridge the gap between the classroom and the profession, offers unrivalled performance experience to a select group of students.
To be competitive in the industry, we recommend students complete the full 3-year program.

- South African National Senior Certificate (Grade 12), with a proficiency in English and a propensity for creative expression
- An audition before the College Director.
The Higher Certificate in Acting for Film (1st Year) concentrates on building a solid foundation in the craft of acting through exercises, mastering technique, theory and performance practice.
The year culminates in a film shoot showcased at Graduation.

The Advanced Certificate in Acting for Film (2nd Year) consolidates and refines the acting techniques learnt in the first year whilst further broadening the skills base necessary to be successful in the industry.
With an increased focus on project-based learning, advanced certificate students participate in a variety of productions, from voice-over, to theatre to short films. Students final work will be screened at Graduation. Material may be used for acting student’s show-reel.

- An audition before a selection panel is required.

Award winning theatre actor, Sivenkosi, is currently completing her masters at UCT, while continuing to work as an actor and teacher.

Carishma Basday
Carishma is a professional actress, dancer, and model and has recently completed her 500-hour advanced teacher training.

Danielle has an Honours Degree in Drama and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education, specialising in teaching drama.

Rowan is a locally and internationally trained professional film and TV actor, and certified UCT teacher.
